Game Jams are an amazing way for creatives to work together on something cool, and hone their skills in the process. The goal is to work quickly over a brief period of time to make a simple, yet unique game.

This upcoming jam from Ategon (of Lemmy instance programming.dev) looks particularly exciting.

Welcome to the summer fediverse jam! This is a nine day game jam over the course of two weekends + a set of weekdays where you need to make a game according to a theme!

So far, 21 people have signed up to participate. There’s a straw poll to determine what the theme of the jam will be, with some pretty interesting ideas that might resonate with the fediverse:

• Parallel Worlds
• Connected Together
• Unseen Forces
• Fragmented
• Consequences
• The Greater Good
• Break the Rules
• Order and Chaos

I will be playing games live over at https://www.twitch.tv/ategondev during the rating period to give developers live feedback and the top rated games will be showcased in a youtube video once the voting period ends. Feel free to also run your own streams if you want!

Fediverse Game Jam Takes Place July 14th to July 23rd

• Microblogging will happen at Mastodon GameDev Place, under the #FediverseJam tag.

Obviously, you can federate with either of those spaces on your respective federated platform of choice.
